1. Download and unzip the upgrade.
2. Unzip the contained BookYourTravel.zip
3. Turn on maintenance on your website (google a maintenance mode plugin to help).
4. Delete the entire parent theme folder contents.
5. Upload contents of above BookYourTravel.zip to the parent theme folder.
If using a child theme that has php or js files:
6. Backup the child theme.
7. Upgrade each php and js file in the child theme to latest code.
8. Re-add your code changes to these upgraded php and js files by using a text editor.
And finally
9. Turn off maintenance mode.
10. Go to Theme options and check if there is and Upgrade tab. If there is one
click the Upgrade database button within the tab.
We advise you to also have a child theme, we provide a sample child theme in the zip folder you download from ThemeForest.
So you would have
wp-content/themes/BookYourTravel <- unmodified parent theme wp-content/themes/byt-child <- your child theme... currently only has a style.css file in it, but if you want to modify php or js files, you copy them here and modify them... while keeping the files in parent theme untouched.
How about the languages folder. At the moment, if I understand it right, it is in the parent folder. However at the moment it works as well in the child theme. Can I simply move it in the childe theme folder? Or better leave it in the parent folder but not delete it?
If you don\'t plan on making changes to the code, it can stay where it is and get updated with the upgrade. The only issue is with the languages folder.

Hi,
Yes, you can skip maintenance.
themes/BookYourTravel is the parent theme.
We advise you to also have a child theme, we provide a sample child theme in the zip folder you download from ThemeForest.
So you would have
wp-content/themes/BookYourTravel <- unmodified parent theme
wp-content/themes/byt-child <- your child theme... currently only has a style.css file in it, but if you want to modify php or js files, you copy them here and modify them... while keeping the files in parent theme untouched.

Yes, on our todo list is the check of why language files don\'t apply correctly from the child theme.
In the mean time, please keep your language files in the parent folder.
Btw, to merge your translated language files with a new version, please follow this tutorial:

And the woocommerce folder? As well keeping it in the parent folder?
If you don\'t plan on making changes to the code, it can stay where it is and get updated with the upgrade. The only issue is with the languages folder.
